Bringing Creatives Together to Change the World
Bringing Creatives Together to Change the World
Micro Galleries offers unique artist residencies that are carefully curated, explore relevant social, political and environmental issues, and bring local community and artists together to create positive and meaningful change. Our residencies reinforce ideas about global communities, artist networks, and creating platforms that allow artists to come together to make innovative change - for themselves and communities. ⁣⁣⁣

CASE STUDY: Disrupting Climate Disruption Residency
Kathmandu, 2018
For 10 days, selected artists came together with scientists, activists and community to share knowledge, skills, and create an immersive and interactive creative response that communicated climate disruption, it's implications, and possible solutions to the local community. The community selected will be devastatingly affected by climate disruption - the residency also assisted in shining a light on this issue.

Why Micro Galleries Residencies are Incredible...
In small ways, we do really cool things with and for artists.
  • Researched, structured and bespoke
We delve into relevant social, political and environmental issues, harnessing the power of a global creative network to explore innovative solutions and imaginings.
  • Unique Locations
We have extensive networks and sites all over the world in developing countries and unique neighbourhoods areas that extend your understanding of yourself, your practice, others lived experience, and the world.
  • Incubator Environment
This isn't yoga and juice cleansing, nor simply time and space you're thrown into. We create a vibrant, intense and dynamic environment of exploration and sharing that leaves you with material to unravel and unpack over the next year, and new friends and networks to draw on.
  • Practical and Exploratory
We reach out to local and our international artists to share their skills with you, as well as providing a framework for collaborative and individual exploration.
Why Participants Love Us!
  • MG Residencies are like a new universe where artists and community coexist and create new powerful hopes and scenarios

Olga Trevisan (Italy) - Interdisciplinary Artist
  • The best part was meeting incredible people and taking time to do something different without being afraid of exploring new horizons.
Vivien Poly (France) / Photographer and Street Artist
  • I thought more about how other parts of the world experience climate change, and how they can be so different from the way people think about climate change in my community. Climate change feels more real and urgent after being a part of the residency.
    Caitlin Taguibao / Mural Artist
    Philippines and Canada
  • The selection of the location: I mean, going to talk about climate disruption to a country that is directly affected and see it with your own eyes. Powerful.
